The Inseed believes that the real economy is a good option for investors and that innovative businesses represent concrete investment opportunities with high potential of return. The INSEED challenge is to disseminate the culture of investing in innovative companies with high potential of growth.
Co -entrepreneurship Inseed`s Methodology
To face this challenge , the Inseed bets on co -entrepreneurship processes and methodologies that minimize risk and generate high growth for the invested companies. It operates in a transparent and ethical manner with stakeholders: shareholders, entrepreneurs, government and entities.
As part of this Inseed`s co-entrepreneurship package, the projects are presented to the investor only after passing a rigorous filter composed of a well- structured process with many decision points , different instances and heterogeneous innovation knowledge, market and business modeling . When they reach this stage, innovative companies are evaluated in all aspects: innovation, product, market, growth potential, finance and management. Then an investment thesis is built together with entrepreneurs.
The same degree of prospecting is required at the stages of acceleration and disinvestment, minimizing risks, empowering business and creating value for the entrepreneurs and the investors even before the investment procedure.
In 2007, BNDES has selected the Instituto inovação Group to take part into the operation of the FMIEE CRIATEC Fund, a seed fund with $ 100 million of capital. As a company of innovation from the Instituto Inovação Group, the Inseed is co-manager of the FMIEE CRIATEC Fund, responsible for prospecting, acceleration and disinvestment, coordinating the regional structure of the Fund. In just four years the Criatec invested in 36 companies.
This commitment to performance has been recognized and valued. And at the end of 2012, Inseed has launched FIP Inseed FIMA Fund – an Innovation Fund for the Environment, which includes capital given by BNDES, and pension funds, family offices and wealth management.
Inseed only works with qualified investors, with proper understanding of the financial market in general and of specifically structured investments.
Founded within the Instituto Inovação Group whose DNA is closely connected to the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation – the Inseed shows the basis for critical and profound understanding of the challenges and unique opportunities for innovative businesses. Also due to this, Inseed developed its own methodology to work together with the invested companies.
Its corporate base is composed of the Instituto Inovação Group, reference in entrepreneurship and innovation in Latin America, and the Unipartners , successful entrepreneurs who have gone through the full cycle of startups, mergers, acquisitions and strategic disinvestment. And the Inseed continually invests in the training of a senior team to accomplish the strategic goal of releasing funds to the country.
